To achieve this, each individual tendon is coated with a grease (generally lithium based) and covered by a plastic sheathing formed in an extrusion process. The transfer of tension to the concrete is achieved by the steel cable acting against steel anchors embedded in the perimeter of the slab. When reviewing a house site, we like to dig test pits and have the soil analyzed by a reliable engineering lab. This way, we get reliable information specific to the home site and design the foundation accordingly. This is the only way to build a foundation that will allow a home to best withstand wear and tear. If you are considering building a new home and want more information on this process, call Kerry and the K Bat T Homes for a consultation at (512) 585-6256. |
